OPERATION SCHOOL BELL®: Our major philanthropic program has been providing school clothing for K-12 students in need in the Colorado Springs area since 1969.

We have clothed over 58,000 children for an expenditure of over $2,750,000, enabling them to attend school.
OPERATION CAN YOU HEAR ME? Our trained volunteers offer audiograms to pre-school children, ages 3-5.

Over 22,100 children have benefited from these hearing tests since they began in 1985.
BUDDY BEARS FOR CHILDREN: We provide teddy bears named "Buddy Bear" for children in traumatic situations.

The chapter supplies them to the Colorado Springs and Stratmoore Hills Fire Depts; the emergency centers of Memorial Hospital Central and Memorial Hospital North; the Alamosa, CO base of Eagle Air Med, a fixed-wing air ambulance service supporting the Navajo Nation and the Four Corners region; and T.E.S.S.A., an organization supporting victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assualt.

Since this project began in 1992, over 14,000 Buddy bears have been distributed.
ASSAULT SURVIVOR KITS®: Working with Memorial Central Hospital's Sexual Assault Crisis Center, we provide clothing & hygiene kits to sexual assault victims who must leave their clothing as police evidence, giving victims the comfort of leaving the hospital with dignity.

ALCS has distributed 680 kits at Memorial Hospital since this project began in 1996.
KIDS ON THE BLOCK®: Volunteers from our chapter perform puppet shows in El Paso County public schools to educate children in grades 2-5 about disabilities, divorce and substance abuse.

The professionally-developed content enhances the children's coping abilities by increasing their understanding and awareness of these issues.

Over 71,000 children have been reached by this project since 1986.
